Crime Stoppers and the Nassau County Police Department are seeking the public's help in suppressing gang related crimes in Nassau County.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000.00 for information that leads to the arrest of any person or persons involved in gang related crime.

In addition, Crime Stoppers will pay a reward of up to $2.000.00 for verifiable information that prevents a gang related crime from occurring. The Nassau County Police Department wants the public to be able to recognize some of the common characteristics of gang members. For example, burn marks on the upper arm, gang identifiable colors on clothing and jewelry such as red for " Bloods ", blue for " CRIPS " and black or yellow for " Latin Kings ". Gang members also wear tattoos and use hand signs. These signs are easily noticed because gang members like to use them in public so that people are aware of their specific gang affiliation.
