Highway Patrol Bureau is responsible for the promotion of highway safety through enforcement of the laws and ordinances regulating vehicular and pedestrian traffic; is responsible for the direction and use of emergency equipment; and is charged with the duties of specialized canine patrol. The Highway Patrol Bureau provides coverage of the Long Island Expressway and the Seaford Oyster Bay Expressway.
